Introductory Course
Learn the rules of how to fence and referee matches in the three Olympic sport weapons: foil, saber, & épée.
Acquire fundamental fencing footwork & handwork.
Learn the history, rules, tactics, & language of fencing.
Introductory Course are 60 min long, once a week for 4 weeks.

Intermediate Classes
Join regular fencing classes with other students of similar age or skill in foil, saber, & épée.
Practice fun and challenging handwork and footwork drills, refine your knowledge of the rules, and work on increasing your skill.
Intermediate Classes are 60min long and run weekly.

Advanced Classes
Practice electric fencing with scored fencing bouts in saber.
Learn and master advanced strategy and tactics and develop the proper handwork and footwork techniques to win bouts.
Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in local and national tournaments with instruction from Coach Sasha.
Advanced Classes are 90 min long and run weekly.

Private Lessons
Private Lessons are available for students looking to learn fencing through private instruction and for competitive students to rapidly increase their skill.
Private lessons are 25 min long.

Coach Sasha
Coach Sasha (Alexander) Ryjik was the #1 youth ranked fencer in the United States by age category for 9 consecutive years. He is a multiple time U.S. National Champion, North American Cup Champion, and World Cup champion. He represented the U.S. Fencing Team as captain in numerous World Cups, and three Cadet & Junior World Championships.
Sasha was the top recruit for Harvard’s fencing team where he earned 3 Ivy-League Championships and All-American title while completing his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
He has taught the sport of fencing to thousands of youth and adult students, including at American University and George Mason University. He is also currently the tournament director of the annual Capitol Clash SYC/RCC tournament and the fencing coach at St. Anselm’s Abbey School.
